Discipline guidelines

The College is committed to maintaining a safe, disciplined, inclusive, and academically stimulating environment. Every student is expected to uphold the values of integrity, respect, responsibility, and excellence at all times.

1. General Conduct

  • Students shall behave in a dignified, courteous, and respectful manner within the campus and in all college-related activities.
  • Discipline and decorum must be maintained in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, offices, and common areas.
  • Students must follow all rules, regulations, notices, and instructions issued by the College and its authorities.

2. Academic Integrity

  • Students must maintain honesty in examinations, assignments, research, and all academic work.
  • Any form of cheating, plagiarism, impersonation, or unfair means is strictly prohibited.
  • Attendance requirements as prescribed by the College and affiliating university must be followed.

3. Respect for Individuals and Institution

  • Students shall show respect to teachers, staff, fellow students, visitors, and guests.
  • Discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, gender, language, region, or disability is strictly prohibited.
  • Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or use of abusive language is not permitted.

4. Campus Discipline

  • Possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or any intoxicating substances within the campus is strictly prohibited.
  • Carrying weapons, inflammable materials, or any prohibited items is not allowed.
  • Damage to college property, including buildings, furniture, equipment, or digital resources, will attract strict disciplinary action and recovery of damages.

5. Dress Code

  • Students must adhere to the prescribed dress code of the College.
  • Clothing should be neat, decent, and appropriate for an academic environment.
  • Any attire that disrupts discipline or decorum is not permitted.

6. Use of College Facilities

  • College facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, library, sports grounds, and hostels must be used responsibly.
  • Misuse of internet, computers, or digital platforms for unlawful or unethical activities is prohibited.
  • Unauthorized access to restricted areas is not allowed.

7. Safety and Security

  • Students must carry their identity cards and produce them when required.
  • Any accident, injury, or unsafe condition must be reported immediately to the authorities.
  • Students must comply with safety instructions during emergencies and drills.

8. Ragging

  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and is a punishable offense under law.
  • The College follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
  • Any student found guilty of ragging will face severe disciplinary and legal action.

9. Participation in Activities

  • Students are encouraged to participate in academic, cultural, sports, and social activities in a disciplined manner.
  • Any protest, gathering, or event within the campus requires prior written permission from the College authorities.

10. Social Media and Public Conduct

  • Students must use social media responsibly and must not post content that damages the reputation of the College or any individual.
  • Sharing false, defamatory, or offensive content related to the College is prohibited.
  • Students representing the College in public forums must uphold its values and dignity.

11. Disciplinary Action

Violation of the Student Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Warning or reprimand
  • Fine or penalty
  • Suspension from classes or activities
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Expulsion from the College
  • Legal action, wherever applicable

12. Responsibility and Compliance

  • Ignorance of rules will not be accepted as an excuse.
  • Students are responsible for their conduct both within and outside the campus during college-related activities.
  • Admission to the College implies acceptance of this Student Code of Conduct.

Anti-ragging policies

The College is committed to providing a safe, secure, and inclusive environment to all students. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and is treated as a serious offense. The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.

1. Definition of Ragging

Ragging includes one or more of the following acts:

  • Any conduct that causes physical or psychological harm, fear, shame, or embarrassment to a student
  • Teasing, abuse, or handling with rudeness
  • Forcing a student to perform acts that violate dignity or self-respect
  • Any activity that affects the mental well-being or academic performance of a student
  • Verbal, written, physical, or cyber acts of harassment

Ragging may occur within or outside the campus, including hostels, transport, online platforms, or during college-related activities.

2. Prohibition of Ragging

  • Ragging is strictly prohibited in all forms within the campus, hostels, playgrounds, transportation, and any college-related location.
  • Any student found indulging in ragging, abetting ragging, or conspiring in ragging will face strict disciplinary and legal action.

3. Anti-Ragging Committee & Squad

  • The College shall constitute an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad as per UGC guidelines.
  • The Committee will monitor, prevent, and take action against incidents of ragging.
  • Surprise checks will be conducted in hostels, corridors, canteens, and common areas.

4. Preventive Measures

  • Awareness programs and orientation sessions will be conducted regularly.
  • Anti-ragging posters and helpline information will be displayed prominently on campus.
  • Students and parents/guardians must submit Anti-Ragging Undertakings at the time of admission.

5. Reporting Ragging

Students can report ragging through:

  • College Anti-Ragging Committee or Faculty Advisors
  • Hostel Wardens
  • Institutional helpline numbers
  • UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline: 1800-180-5522

Confidentiality of the complainant will be strictly maintained.

6. Punishment for Ragging

Depending on the severity, punishment may include:

  • Written apology or warning
  • Fine or penalty
  • Suspension from classes or hostels
  • Cancellation of scholarship or fellowship
  • Withholding of results
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Expulsion from the institution
  • Filing of FIR and legal proceedings as per law

7. Responsibilities of Students

  • Students must not indulge in ragging in any form.
  • Senior students must ensure a friendly and respectful environment for juniors.
  • Any incident of ragging witnessed or experienced must be reported immediately.

8. Responsibilities of the Institution

  • Ensure a ragging-free campus at all times.
  • Take prompt and strict action against reported cases.
  • Provide support and counseling to victims.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement agencies when required.

9. Legal Compliance

Ragging is a criminal offense under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions and relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

10. Declaration

Admission to the College implies that the student and their parent/guardian have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Anti-Ragging Policy.
