Nursery Teacher Training(NTT)/Nursery & Primary Teacher Training(NPTT):

NTT is the preamble to Teaching, Learning and Development for the aspiring wannabe Montessori teacher. The course dwells on theoretical aspect on child psychology, pedagogy of different subjects, child nutrition complemented with lots of practical learning with the theme of learning while playing. The course also dwells on building a solid chemistry between the Teachers and the Assistant Teachers and to complement on the wholesome development of the child while at school.

Duration: 24 Months Min. Qualification: 10+2

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed):

The 2-Year B.Ed course aims at a complete development of the student teacher; particularly knowledge and skills, in individual care of the learner and also in the methods and evaluation designed to facilitate learning.

At Scholar College of Education, we understand and appreciate the importance of “LEARNING TO FUNCTION AS A TEACHER” module for an effective 2-Year B.Ed Program which enables student-teachers to acquire beginning teaching competencies.

"LEARNING TO FUNCTION AS A TEACHER" module will take the form of shorter period of attachment with schools for school experience and teaching assistantship and another of a longer duration for block teaching.

This programme prepares prospective teachers to understand the psychological and sociological aspects of the child’s development and also understand his behaviour under different conditions. The course work combined with rigorous practice of teaching prepares teacher trainees to master the art of teaching and the ability to deal with students based on their individual differences in various classroom situations.

Eligibility:

Admission shall be open to those candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern) and / or Master’s Degree with 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in the Faculty of Arts, Science, Social Science, Commerce or Faculty of Music and Fine Arts from the University of Jammu or an examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto or Bachelor’s Degree examination of four year duration from a recognized University.

Master of Education (M.Ed.):

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) provides an opportunity for professionals in the field of Education to undertake advanced coursework and research in their area of interest. The course offers professional educators excellent career prospects in terms of advancement of knowledge and qualification and ultimately making them better teachers. The course prepares graduates to inquire into the nature of educational problems and generate new knowledge, which can be used to enhance policy and practice and help develop skills to tackle the challenging and dynamic world of teaching.

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to M.Ed. Programme should have obtained at least 50 % marks in the aggregate (45 % for candidates belonging to SC/ST Category) or an equivalent grade in the following programmes:

  • B.Ed.
  • 4-year Integrated B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed.
  • B.EL.Ed.
  • D.EL.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each).

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.):

This course aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education, i.e. class I to VIII. The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning needs of all children in an inclusive school environment bridging social and gender gaps with the acive participation of the community.

Eligibility:
  • The candidate seeking admission to D.El.Ed. course should have passed 10+2 standard examination with 50% marks.
  • The reservation and relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Government whichever is applicable.
  • The teachers should have minimum two years teaching experience at the time of seeking admission.
